JFSA served as the civil engineer for the Littleton Municipal Building re-development. Proposed improvements at this site involved renovation of the existing municipal building, addition of a new police facility, large surface parking lot expansion, and redesign of the majority of the site. JFSA prepared preliminary and final design documents for grading, drainage, erosion control, fire service, and storm and sanitary sewer design. Two water quality ponds were designed to bring the facility up to current state health department standards.

Zapata Falls Campground

JFSA served as the civil engineer for the design of this new 26-site rustic campground for BLM. Design included roadway and culvert design for the double looped campground road and site specific grading for each campsites parking, pull-out tent pad, picnic table pad, campfire ring, and the trails connecting each element. The new campground will provide a new toilet building, group, RV and tent campsites.

Produced construction documents that included the realignment of Olde Wadsworth through Olde Town Arvada between the railroad tracks, north of Grandview Avenue and Ralston Road parallel parking, improved drainage through the addition of a new storm sewer system, and upsized water main and service lines along the corridor. JFSA also designed the piping and re-alignment of an irrigation ditch, including a new diversion structure, wider sidewalks, specialty paving, crosswalks, lighting, gateway signage and site furnishings.

JFSA worked together with the City of Littleton in the site renovation of the existing Littleton Municipal Courthouse in downtown Littleton, Colorado. The site development aspects of the job included grading, sidewalk and stair layout, drainage design to tie into existing infrastructure, waterline design, and sanitary sewer design. The structural portion of the project included retaining wall and stair designs that were able to function with the existing courthouse structure.

JFSA conducted a design survey and prepared full civil engineering plans that included sediment and erosion control plans, overall utility plans, stormwater management plans, grading and drainage plans for this new park that included playgrounds, ballfields, and a water feature park. Working with DHM Design, JFSA also prepared construction plans and performed construction observation.

Since the early 1990s, JFSA has served as the CityĆ­s civil engineer completing multiple street improvement projects from local and collector streets to major arterials and state highways. JFSA prepared design documents depicting lane widths, alignments, ADA ramps, traffic calming devices when required, sidewalk additions and widening, replacement of damaged curb and gutter, new construction, mill and overlay projects, utility replacement, and drainage improvements.

JFSA prepared the civil engineering construction documents and reports for this BLM office building, warehouse, and wareyard located on this 5.5-acre site in Kanab, Utah. In addition to site grading, drainage, and utilities, the design also involved the widening of a state highway and the addition of a new City road and water line to serve the site.

JFSA provided structural and civil engineering for the new office building addition located at the Hell Canyon District Office in Custer, South Dakota. This building achieved a LEED Silver certification through the use of energy efficient and environmentally friendly building materials, a minimized approach to site layout and added stormwater quality facilities.

JFSA was contracted to provide site development services for this project. Due to the bedrock-like nature of the existing site soil, JFSA prepared a grading plan minimizing the amount of cut required for the site. Roadway plan and profiles, as well as typical sections, were designed for approximately 700ft of roadway. Site hydrology was analyzed to size a detention and water quality pond.
