JFSA provided structural and civil design for this 12,250-square-foot steel frame structure to include offices, classrooms, library, and ambulance simulation. Many challenges were overcome to give the building a unique architectural feel with large windows, a central clerestory, and a high, barrel-roofed auditorium space.

Denver Police District Station No. 1

JFSA served as the civil engineer and surveyor for development of a new Police District Station No. 1 in Denver, Colorado. The project was constructed on 5 acres in north Denver, and included a new 30,400 square-foot building and parking lot with 185 stalls. Civil engineering services for the project included design of a water main loop through the site to support fire hydrants and services to the police station. JFSA designed on-site detention basins to meet local requirements for water quality and flood management, and right-of-way improvements along 1,000 feet of roadway, including replacement of curbs, sidewalks, and driveway ramps.

BLM Hidden Valley Fire Facilities

JFSA was contracted to provide site development services for this project. Due to the bedrock-like nature of the existing site soil, JFSA prepared a grading plan minimizing the amount of cut required for the site. Roadway plan and profiles, as well as typical sections, were designed for approximately 700ft of roadway. Site hydrology was analyzed to size a detention and water quality pond.

Ground level impacts associated with the building expansion included a new outpatient entry, and the addition of an elevator tower to provide elevator service from the ground floor to upper floors. This expansion added approximately 700 square feet to the north side of the existing building.

Initial work included development of plans for inclusion in a site development plan update that was submitted to the Planning Division of the City of Littleton Community Development Department, showing the planned improvements, in context with the entire hospital site.

Subsequent work involved development of plans for grading, site work, storm sewer and construction phase erosion control.

This hospital expansion is located at 8th Avenue and Speer Boulevard in Denver, Colorado. JFSA provided site/civil design including preliminary and final design for grading, utility systems, and private roadway and parking improvements.

The purpose of this site development was to expand the existing hospital facility with the addition of a new wing. The project also updated and improved existing drive lanes, parking facilities, drainage appurtenances, and utility services.

Mono Basin and Topaz Fire Stations

JFSA provided civil design and consulting services for the Bureau of Land Management in development of two fire stations in northern California. Each site was situated on approximately 7 acres and included development of an operations building, two dormitory buildings, and a core facilities building.

The project entailed site/civil design for drainage, grading operations with erosion control measures, utility infrastructure systems, and improvements to the access drive and parking areas.

JFSA served as the civil engineer and surveyor for development of a new medical office building and parking garage in the Arapahoe Medical Park in Littleton, Colorado. The project included site improvements on 9 acres of land housing the four-story office building and two-story parking garage located just north of the Littleton Adventist Hospital.

JFSA provided civil engineering services including design of the private roadway for expanding the campus loop road around the perimeter of site. Additional surface parking was designed to support new and existing hospital buildings. JFSA also designed water main extensions through the site to support fire hydrants and services to the proposed buildings.
