JFSA furnished civil engineering, drainage, and surveying services for all phases of this project. JFSA was also responsible for the roadway design of 12 city blocks (approximately 1 mile) in the area surrounding the new stadium site. As part of this project, JFSA designed the first ever water quality wash down system, which has become the standard in new stadium design.

JFSA engineered the site improvements for this 50-acre major sports complex located at the confluence of two major watersheds. This project involved design of 2400 LF of major collector street (Chopper Circle), arterial street intersections on Speer Boulevard and Auraria Parkway, and other collector streets up to 7 lanes wide. JFSA provided the civil/water resources engineering services for designing all utility plans, drainage and grading including the construction of large storm box culverts, and relocation of large diameter sewer and water lines.

JFSA engineered the site improvements for this major sports complex located in the heart of Denver. Services included parking lot and roadway design, site grading, utility design, drainage design, water quality facilities, permitting and floodplain study of the South Platte River.

JFSA provided the site development services for this world-class ice arena and multipurpose sports complex with 8,000 spectator seats. Site development issues included major storm sewer extrusions (96 and 72 inches in diameter). The parking lot accommodates 2,960 vehicles and is accented by a curvilinear pedestrian island through the center of the parking lot. Coordination efforts with the Colorado Department of Transportation and the City of Colorado Springs was necessary to coordinate the connection to the I-25 frontage road, city streets, and the upgrades to Venetucci Blvd., which provided four lane access to the site.

JFSA provided the design services for city street and site improvements for the national headquarters building of USA Hockey. City street access linked the I-25 frontage road with Venetucci Boulevard. The site improvements and structure were built on an existing wetland. During design and construction, extremely close coordination was maintained with the city and state highway departments. Construction of the streets was ongoing while the site development was being conducted.

This project, developed by Foothills Park and Recreation District, consists of approximately 3.5 acres of land used to support the 80,000 square foot building. JFSA's services included preliminary and final design for drainage, grading, erosion control, construction cost analysis, and construction administration.

JFSA served as the civil engineer for the Lilley Gulch Recreation Center Renovation and Addition Project in Jefferson County, Colorado. The 3-acre site is owned by Foothills Park and Recreation District, with improvements including a 11,300-square-foot building addition. JFSA services included preliminary and final design for drainage, grading, and erosion control, as well as construction cost analysis and construction administration.

JFSA provided civil engineering services for the 80,000 square foot Ridge Recreation Center. JFSA prepared the preliminary and final drainage studies for existing and proposed site conditions on the 105-acre site. Construction plans including roadway alignment, grading operations, sanitary sewer lines, water lines, foundation drain lines, and storm sewer facilities prepared as well.

The University of Northern Colorado Football Stadium is an 8,000 seat facility on 7.8 acres. The facility includes a parking lot, future expansion capabilities and facilities for spectators. The site is adjacent to an existing wetlands and Audubon Habitat. The plans included overlot grading, storm sewer, water lines, parking layout, and roadway design. JFSA also provided bidding services and construction observation for the proposed stadium.

In close coordination with the UNC maintenance facility staff, JFSA provided civil engineering services for the UNC Student Recreation Center. Preliminary and final drainage studies were prepared for both existing and proposed site conditions. Several drainage alternatives for the proposed building site and associated parking areas were presented. JFSA prepared plans and profiles for sanitary sewer lines, water lines, and storm sewer relocation.

JFSA provided grading and drainage design for improvements to this athletic field complex. A restroom/maintenance facility was added to the eastern side of the park to support the new soccer fields. Also included was a peer review of parking and road improvements to the isolated southern baseball fields. The major focus of this project was the drainage of the four field complex, its internal walkways, and bleacher areas. Paved swales, trench drains, and new drainage systems resolved these issues.

Pedestrian trails and bikepaths take people off the beaten path and provide great opportunities to observe local flora and fauna in the midst of the urban environment. Staff members of JFSA have designed numerous trails for numerous cities and counties throughout Colorado. Trail designs for concrete, asphalt and crusher fines paths have been completed, with bridges designed across drainage channels and creeks, as well.

As the civil engineering and survey consultant for this project, JFSA prepared grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility plans for the Castle Rock Recreation Center Addition. The challenges on this project were the large changes in elevation across the site and drains from the buildings that needed to be incorporated into the drainage system. JFSA designed a multi-stage detention pond that met the required aesthetic requirements of the Town of Castle Rock. JFSA worked closely with the town to modify aspects of the initial design to better meet the townĂ­s intent for the beauty and functionality of this large recreation and senior citizens center.

JFSA provided civil site development plans and civil engineering for the Crestridge Recreation Center, an 80,000-square-foot facility on a 10-acre site in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Services included preparation of the horizontal control plan, storm sewer plans, sanitary sewer plans, and water line plan and profiles. Grading plans and overall utility plans were also delivered. JFSA provided stormwater management plans for the Colorado Department of Health, and prepared construction dewatering and stormwater discharge permit applications for the development owner.
