Sheridan Dam is an earthen structure with a structural height of 126 ft and reservoir volume of 13,500 acre-feet, and is one of the USDA-Forest Service's largest dams. JFSA performed a dam breach analysis, hazard classification and inundation mapping. The study involved data and information collection, field investigation and survey, spillway capacity analysis, breach analysis, unsteady flow modeling via the NWS computer model DAMBRK, and report preparation.

Cook Dam an earthen embankment dam is located in the Black Hills National Forest, Crook County, South Dakota. JFSA and Flow Technologies LLC were contracted to do a Hydrological & Dam Breach Analysis and ascertain the hazard classification of the dam and develop inundation maps. Using the information from USGS Topographical Map and the limited survey data, a dam breach analysis was performed and downstream inundation maps were prepared along the downstream reach for a distance of 11 miles downstream of the dam. The inflow design flood was estimated by a hydrological analysis using GIS.
