JFSA provided design services for an experimental hydropower facility at Eagle Creek near Portland, Oregon. The facility used a marine thruster as a turbine in a new powerhouse, forebay and a penstock added to a fish hatchery's intake structure. The plant is a 17-foot head, 80 cfs, 100 kW unit.

JFSA evaluated construction activities at a hydroelectric project located in Brazil. The project included an earthen dam about 150 feet high. Due to an extended rainy season, the construction effort was behind schedule. The Contractor proposed an accelerated schedule so the Owner could meet a contractual deadline with the power purchaser. JFSA was asked to review the schedule, visit the site and provide a report outlining the risks associates with the rapid construction of the embankments and associated features.
